THE HEALING CIRCLE

The Healing Circle Cultural Arts is dedicated to preserving our ancestor's tradition of using art, storytelling, music, and dance to heal, educate, and uplift our community.  The healing circle was created to be a safe space for artists and audience to explore the world around them and the power within them, assisting individuals and communities in living authentic lives with purpose through performing and visual arts.  Our desire is for the artists featured in our projects to share their stories of healing through song, word, and dance to encourage and inspire others going through similar dilemmas.   HCCA knows that every man, woman, and child can find empowerment in social, cultural, and self awareness.

Through Spoken Word we can speak the Truth

Through Art we can visualize the Truth  

Through Music we can accept the Truth

Through Dance we can rejoice in the Truth

. . . And from Truth we can begin to Heal.

The Healing Circle Projects:

• Theatrapy - Singers, Actors, and Dancers interested in sharing real life stories should get involve with this performance troupe.  Mixing tribal wisdom, with folklore, and today's social concern's to promote intelligent conversation about our society's most pressing issues.
• Talking Drums - Children between the ages of 3 and 17 can learn voice, dance, and acting.  They will learn African, Caribean, and Latin cultures through performing and be able to voice their concerns about today's society.  At the end of project children will put on a full fledge theatrical production.
• Nubian Queens Society - The Nubian Queen Society is dedicated to providing unique cultural experiences and learning oppurtunities to  teens, 12-17.  Our goal is to empower young princesses and assist them in becoming beautiful Nubian Queens.
